The Feldberg summit makes a great destination for a short trip to the Taunus. Great views from the top and so much fun tobogganing down the steep hill.

2. Activity on site
Hiking
It is a 5 km hike. You will pass the ski lift on the way to the summit of Feldberg. Simply follow the signs to the summit. Many paths lead there. If you don’t want to get lost, check your location on the map frequently.
Tobogganing
It is a tobogganing paradise. Make sure to bring your own toboggan. Many people make use of the snow in the Taunus, while there is no snow in the city. Watch out on the paths – the toboggans are literally everywhere.

4. Tips
Check if the ski lift is running
It is the “ski lift at the youth hostel”, not the one at “Pechberg”. They don’t run it every winter. Check here (German only).
Proper hiking boots or even cleats
The paths get real slippery because of the many toboggans.
Sign the register book at the top of the Feldberg summit
It is hidden at the cross.
5. How to get back
